The arrival of a new era
Gold is an expensive metal because it is not easily available. Gold is difficult to find on the surface because it is heavy and sank into the liquid earth’s core when the earth was formed. At least, it is found in volcanic regions where liquid substances inside the earth are ejected outward.
새로운 시대의 도래-
황금은 쉽게 구할 수 없기에 비싼 금속이다. 황금은 무거워서 지구가 만들어 질 때, 액체상태의 지구의 핵 속으로 가라앉아 버렸기에 지표면에서 쉽게 찾기가 어렵다. 그나마, 액체상태의 지구내부 물질이 밖으로 분출되는 화산지대에서는 발견된다.
Between Mars and Jupiter there is a belt of small asteroids that did not become planets. In other words, it can exist as a huge golden asteroid that melts and sinks into the planet. The closest planet to this asteroid belt is Mars.
If Armstrong had given us a few gold nuggets from the moon in 1969, we would already be shopping on the Internet on the moon.
화성과 목성 사이에는 행성이 되지 못한 작은 소행성들이 벨트를 이루고 있다. 즉, 황금덩어리가 녹아서 행성 내부로 가라앉은 거대한 황금소행성으로 존재 할 수 있다. 이 소행성대에 가장 가까운 행성이 화성이다.
1969년 암스트롱이 달에서 황금덩어리 몇 개만 주어왔었다면, 우리는 이미 달에서 인터넷 쇼핑을 하고 있었을 것이다.
The 2nd Age of Exploration
Before Columbus discovered the New World, China was the center of the world. It was Europe that intensively developed the technology to efficiently procure enormous gold and silver from the New World, and the current world is being developed around Europe and its descendant, the United States.
The pre-Columbian ocean was a cliff at the end and a sea of no return. However, Europeans who developed new navigation and survival skills expanded their realm of life to the new continent, and based on this, they are leading the world to date. Korea, which did not, became a colony.
About 500 years ago, it was the first Age of Exploration, when people migrated in search of new continents on Earth, and now it is the Second Age of Exploration, when people migrate to find new continents in the solar system.
제2의 대항해 시대-
콜럼버스가 신대륙을 발견하기 이전에는 세계의 중심은 중국이었다. 신대륙에서 들어오는 막대한 금과 은, 이를 효율적으로 조달하기 위한 기술들을 집중적으로 개발한 곳은 유럽이었고, 현재의 세계는 그 유럽과 그 후손인 미국을 중심으로 발전되고 있다.
콜럼버스 이전의 대양은 끝이 낭떠러지였고, 돌아오지 못하는 바다였다. 그러나, 새로운 항해기술과 생존기술을 개발한 유럽인들은 신대륙으로 삶에 영역을 확장하였고, 이를 바탕으로 현재까지 세계를 주도하고 있다. 그렇지 못했던 우리나라는 식민지가 되고 말았다.
500여년전 지구의 신대륙을 찾아 이주하던 제1의 대항해 시대였고, 현재는 태양계의 신대륙을 찾아 이주하는 제2의 대항해 시대이다.
Life scientist goes to Mars
If exploration is the goal, the spaceship only needs a pilot like Armstrong on board. However, for the purpose of colonization and habitation, the international Mars spacecraft will have passengers aboard, just like airplanes.
Unlike airplanes, these passengers will not be Americans, but the world’s best experts in each field.
It can be a story of a very distant future to go to Mars on a Korean rocket. However, if we use rockets from NASA or Spase X in the US, it can become a reality for us right away.
생활과학자가 화성으로-
탐사가 목적이라면, 우주선에는 암스트롱 같은 조종사만 탑승하면 된다. 그러나, 식민지를 개척하는 거주 목적이라면, 국제화성우주선에는 비행기처럼 승객이 탑승하게 된다.
비행기와 달리 이 승객들은 미국인이 아닌, 의식주 각 분야의 세계 최고의 전문가들이 탑승하게 된다.
한국의 로켓을 타고 화성에 가기에는 아주 먼 미래의 이야기가 될 수 있다. 그러나, 미국의 NASA나 Spase X의 로켓을 이용한다면, 우리에게도 바로 현실이 될 수 있다.
